If you want to find some minerals by yourself, you are welcome to my museum. Here all necessary gear is already prepared for you also I am ready to answer all your questions and give some advice for success. Then everything will depend of your hard work with a pick, slash hammer, rock bar and of course luck.

Dear friends, beneath there are some descriptions of nearest to the museum mines and quarries where you can check your luck and try to found some minerals. Because the Sludyanka’s layer has more then 250 different kinds of minerals and it really worth to be called “The mineralogy paradise”.

 

On a southern extremity of unique sea - lake Baikal there is the mineralogical paradise recognized as geologists, ìèíåðàëîãàìè and collectors of a stone of all world is Ñëþäÿíñêîå a deposit which totals more than 250 versions of minerals. On 160 kms at length and width of 40 kms such "horseshoe" the unique deposit has captured sacred waters of Baikal, age mountain city makes from two 4 billion years. We you shall acquaint with several points near to our base « Semi-precious stone of Baikal ».

THE MINE ¹ 1 begins at 250 m from the museum and ended at 1 km. It is not used about 40 years and has more then 30 minerals such as apatite, flogopite, diopsite, scolopite, pyrite, cvarz, dolomite, calcite, malachite, gialofite, ornate, aragonite and other.

THE MINE ¹ 2 begins at 2 km / 1.2 mi from the museum and ends at 4 km / 2.49 mi. It is not used about 55 years and has more then 50 minerals such as apatite, flogopite, diopsite, scolopite, pyrite, cvarz, calcite, aragonite, manganese, pargacite and other.

THE MINE ¹ 3 begins at 0.5 km / 0.31 mi from the museum. It is not used about 70 years and has more then 25 minerals such as clean apatite, diopsite, scolopite, pyrite, calcite, amber flogopite and other.

THE QUARRY "DYNAMITE" begins at 1.5 km / 0.91 mi from the museum near the active marble mine. It is not used about 55 years and has more then 20 minerals such as apatite, flogopite, diopsite, scolopite, pyrite, cvarz, dolomite, calcite, malachite, gialofite, ornate, aragonite and other.

THE QUARRY “PEREVAL” is based 1.5 km / 0.93 mi up the river Sludyanka (1000 m high / 3800 feet). It is still active and has more then 60 different kinds of minerals such as blue apatite, amazonite, asbeste, ortite, pyrite, zircon and others.

THE LAYER “LASURISTOUE" based 12 km / 7.50 mi up the river Sludyanka on the left and right side. It is not used about 40 years. There is really beautiful nature: river, mountains, deep forest. You can find a lot of minerals into the water such as lazurite (some times in crystals), glaucolite and many others.

THE LAYER "WHITE DEEP" is based about 50 km / 31 mi near the old around Baikal railroad what is situated on the bank of the Baikal in the most beautiful place in Western Siberia. The length of the road is about 80 km / 50 mi and it was build in 1905. Near it is the 3 days hiking and biking trail what goes pass dangerous cliffs, 55 dark tunnels, tens of bridges over the mountains rivers flowing to the lake. What about minerals, there are dolomite, scalopite, forsterite, diopsite, fassite, sfen, zircon, quarts, garnet and many others.

THE BANK OF THE BAIKAL is a part of the layer ¹ 1. Its length is about 10 km / 6.21 mi.

Also you can participate in excursion to the marble MINE "BUROVSHINA" and visit factory where the marble is cut to blocks.

And of course you can see all the minerals in the museum “Semi-precious stone”. There are 10000 wonderful exhibits and a lot of possibilities of buying minerals and souvenirs by symbolic sum of money for supporting museum or trading it on other samples.

The museum is situated on the bank of the Baikal near the mountains. And you can hike not only to the mines and layers, but also to other beautiful places of this aria.
